I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist and as a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society in the Division of Clinical Psychology. Since qualifying, I have had 9 years independent practice working with adult clients. In addition to my private practice, I have also supervised junior colleagues and taught postgraduate level courses in clinical psychology and psychotherapy.
Training & Education
I have training and experience in the main evidence-based psychotherapeutic modalities: psychodynamic, humanistic/person-centred and cognitive behavioural therapy. Integrating the theory and techniques of these different approaches enables a therapist to tailor psychotherapy to the particular needs of the client. This approach may take the form of intensive, time-limited therapy for someone experiencing intense distress, in order to help them regain a sense of emotional balance. At other times, integrative psychotherapy may involve medium to long-term work which is more explorative in nature, and may be better suited to understanding more deep-seated emotional difficulties and troubling relationship patterns.
